About Kavka vodka

Increasingly disillusioned with the direction vodka brands have taken, we started delving into how it used to be made during the heyday of private production in the 19th Century. As a result, we created KAVKA Vodka, with real taste, strong character and a discernible point of difference. To fight back against the idea that vodka should be without distinctive character, aroma, taste, or colour (the American legal definition of Vodka) and go back to a time when each distillery in Poland would produce spirits that emphasised taste and individuality rather than trying to filter them out.

“A classic style of Polish vodka with a big, confident character. Vodka how it used to taste. Bold and distinctive.” Ian Wisniewski, leading spirits expert and author.

We have formed a partnership with a small distillery in the west of Poland with a 200 year history in vodka production. Together with their Master Distiller we’ve created a unique vodka that has a flavour, depth, complexity and smoothness that is discernibly different to other vodkas.

The secret behind the spirit:

Unrectified Wheat and Rye spirits are blended and re-distilled. Very small quantities of Plum and Apple spirit (aged for a minimum of 50 years in oak) are then added and rested to allow the character to develop. The vodka is retested and if satisfactory is put through a very gentle and non invasive filtration process that only takes out coarse impurities but allows character and flavour to remain. This process was used extensively in the 18th and 19th centuries and was famed for producing the best vodkas.
